The Parenting Network’s strongest collaborator is the United Way of Greater Milwaukee. In addition to supporting programming through a general allocation and designated gifts, the United Way of Greater Milwaukee funds Making Proud Choices!, a school-based teen pregnancy prevention program, through its Healthy Girls Initiative.

The Parenting Network was a founding member of MCAPS (Milwaukee Child Abuse Prevention Services), a group of community-based organizations committee to providing programs and services for families to prevent child abuse and neglect.

Our Executive Director, Jan Buchler, serves as co-chair of the MCAPS Steering Committee. Sub-committees include the Public Policy Committee, the Family Connections Committee, and the Teen Parent Task Force.

•  HIPPY (Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters), led by COA Youth and Family Center.
• Milwaukee Brighter Futures is a coalition of organizations whose mission is to develop strategies geared to prevent child abuse and neglect, inspiring greater hope for youth, building stronger families, and creating better neighborhoods, lead by Community Advocates.

• Family Links, a community response program, in partnership with Children’s Service Society of Wisconsin, La Causa Family Resource Center, Mental Health America, Sojourner Family Peace Center, and the Bureau of Milwaukee Child Welfare.
• VIP (Very Important Parent) Dad™, a collaboration with Milwaukee Secure Detention Facility, Probation and Parole, and community volunteers.
• Welcome, Baby!, a program for expectant and new parents in many community-based locations across Milwaukee County.
• The Parenting Network is a partner in the Awareness to Action Milwaukee project initiated by the Child Abuse Prevention Fund.

The Parenting Network collaborates with schools, churches, and other social services agencies across Milwaukee County to provide quality services and programs in locations convenient to families.
