School Based Programs

Adolescent Parenting

Our Adolescent Parenting Program provides parenting education classes for pregnant or parenting teens. Classes are held at the teens’ schools or other community sites. This program utilizes Parents As Teachers: Young Dads, Young Moms, an evidence-based curriculum. Adolescent Parenting is funded through a grant from Milwaukee Brighter Futures.

RELATE and Making Proud Choices 

RELATE (Relationship Education Leading Adolescents Toward Empowerment) is a sexual violence and pregnancy prevention program for middle and high school youth. Making Proud Choices is an evidence-based, comprehensive sex education curriculum. RELATE and Making Proud Choices are facilitated in schools throughout Milwaukee County and are usually completed in eight to ten sessions.

RELATE is funded through Milwaukee Brighter Futures, and Making Proud Choices is funded through the Healthy Girls Initiative of the United Way of Greater Milwaukee.

LifeSkills

LifeSkills is a substance and violence prevention program preparing teens for life beyond high school. Topics covered include Goal Setting, Effective Communication, Managing Stress, Decision Making, Time and Money Management, and Building Relationships.

A five-week series of LifeSkills Transitions is open to any 16-20 year old looking for support in their transition to the adult world. This a FREE program held at The Parenting Network from 5:30-7:00 pm on Tuesdays, beginning on April 24 until May 22. Register through the Parent Helpline at 414/671-0566.

LifeSkills is funded through a grant from Fighting Back, a program of Jewish Family Services.
