Can we help? The Parent Helpline is a 24-hour informational, referral, and listening line for parents. Calls are confidential. Experienced phone counselors respond to calls weekdays 8:30 am to 9 pm. Family Links and Parents as Teachers provide case management and home visiting services for any family. Participation is voluntary. Parents as Teachers, a new component, is an evidence-based home visiting program that teaches early literacy and child development to parents of children 3 and younger.


HIPPY (Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters) is a parent involvement, school readiness program that helps parents prepare their 3-5 year old children for success in school and beyond.


Parenting Education and Support programs utilize evidence-based curricula for specific parent populations: grandparents raising grandchildren, parents of 'spirited' children, teen parents, anger management for parents, single parents, and more.

  • As One – healthy relationship class for unmarried parents or parents-to-be. This 10-hour class teaches couples the importance of knowing themselves and each other as they strengthen their relationship for the benefit of their baby.

  • Becoming a Love and Logic Parent – parents learn how to hold their children accountable for their actions in a positive and respectful manner. Parents learn to lock in empathy, love, and understanding, before telling kids what their consequences of their actions will be.

  • Circle of Parents – parents and caregivers provide support to one another in a structured group such as Raising the Spirited Child and Grandparents Parenting Again as well as parenting groups that are based at transitional living programs and other community sites.

  • Cooperative Co-parenting – a 3-hour class meeting the requirements for divorcing parents in Milwaukee County. $45 per person.

  • Fireworks/Anger Management – parents gain a better understanding of the emotion of anger, learn to manage anger constructively, and learn to effectively handle their children’s anger.

  • Effective Black Parenting – parents build skills through a culturally-inclusive curriculum that addresses issues specifically for African-American families.

  • Positive Parenting – each of the ten sessions focus on different aspects of parenting such as communication, self-esteem, routines, stress/anger, discipline, and child development.

  • VIP (Very Important Parent) Dads – education and support specifically to dads. Programs include Dad Matters, a weekly group for community dads, and Inside/Out Dad for incarcerated dads.

  • Welcome, Baby! – a new program offering support and education to expecting or new parents through partnerships with family resource centers throughout Milwaukee County.


Awareness to Action (A2A) is a new initiative focused on preventing child sexual abuse by helping adults and communities take action to protect children through awareness, education, prevention, advocacy, and action.


The Children's Program provides nurturing care for children while parents attend a parenting program. While mom and dad are in class, come play with us!


The RELATE (Relationship Education Leading Adolescents Toward Empowerment) Project is a school-based sexual violence and pregnancy prevention program for middle and high school youth.
