April 2017 - Say Something, Do Something

In honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month, Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and Denim Day*, The Parenting Network is inviting parents, professionals, and community members to fill out a postcard that will be sent to legislators with a message that encourages them to continue to support prevention efforts for families and children.

As of now, we have over 200 cards individually filled and addressed. Some quotes include:

"I would like to continue to feel assured that my daughter is safe and protected when I am not around."

"I believe that children need someone to speak for them."

"Thank you for thinking about our children's future."

*In unity  with the Milwaukee Denim Day committee and their amazing

display downtown, we are displaying jeans of all sizes in our TPN conference room; we've attached the postcards to unite the cause. Follow our progress on Facebook.

TPN is also hosting a Protective Factors training this month with a focus on the third Protective Factor- Knowledge of Parenting and Child Development. It will be held on Denim Day, Wednesday, April 26th from 1:00pm-3:30pm at the Parenting Network.
